Offsite Ads fee

Offsite Ads is Etsy’s program where Etsy buys ads on Google, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and elsewhere using your listings. When a buyer clicks one of those ads and converts (within 30 days), Etsy takes a commission: 15% if you’ve earned under $10K in the last 365 days, 12% if you’ve earned over $10K - and at the $10K threshold, you’re enrolled mandatorily and cannot opt out.

What you pay vs. what you don’t

• You only pay if the buyer’s order is attributed to an Offsite Ads click. No click, no fee.
• The fee is in addition to the 6.5% transaction fee, payment processing fee, and any per-order regulatory fee.
• It’s capped at 12% of the order total or $100, whichever is lower.

Why this fee surprises high-volume sellers

The $10K threshold is rolling. A successful holiday season can push you past it permanently, and the next year you’re locked into the 12% rate forever. Combined with 6.5% transaction + ~3.25% processing, an Offsite Ads-attributed order can lose 22%+ to Etsy before profit.

How to think about it

You can’t control which orders Etsy attributes - Etsy decides. The realistic move is to factor an “expected fee load” into your prices that assumes a percentage of orders will attribute. Sellers under $10K can opt out from Shop Manager > Settings > Offsite Ads.
