Connecting your Etsy shop

What permissions does Everlyst request from Etsy and why

Last updated 1 min read

Quick answer

Everlyst requests four scopes from the Etsy API: listings_r, listings_w, shops_r, and email_r. Each one is needed for a specific feature, and you can revoke access at any time from your Etsy account settings.

When you connect your Etsy shop, Etsy shows you a list of permissions (“scopes”) Everlyst is asking for. Here’s exactly what each one does and why we need it.

The scopes Everlyst requests

ScopeWhat it lets Everlyst doWhy we need it
listings_rRead all of your listings - active, draft, inactive, expiredPowers the listings table, search, filters, and analytics
listings_wCreate, update, and delete listings on your behalfRequired for inline edits, bulk edits, CSV upload, and revert operations
shops_rRead your shop info (name, sections, shipping profiles, processing profiles)Used so bulk edits know which shipping profile or section is valid
email_rRead the email address on your Etsy accountUsed to send sync-complete and bulk-job-complete notifications

Scopes Everlyst does NOT request

  • No transactions_r or transactions_w - Everlyst doesn’t read or modify your orders.
  • No payment access - Everlyst never sees your Etsy Payments balance, payouts, or buyer payment info.
  • No buyer messaging access - Everlyst can’t read or send messages on your behalf.

How to revoke access

You can disconnect Everlyst at any time, two ways:

  1. From Everlyst - Settings → Connected shops → Disconnect.
  2. From Etsy directly - Sign in to Etsy → Account settings → Apps → find “Everlyst” → Revoke access.

Revoking access immediately invalidates the token. Your listings stay on Etsy untouched; Everlyst just stops being able to read or change them.

What if Etsy adds new scopes later

If we ship a feature that needs a new scope, you’ll be prompted to re-authorize before that feature works for you. You can decline and keep using Everlyst with the existing scopes - only the new feature will be unavailable.
